Q: How is Queens Guitar School different from New York City Guitar School?
A: NYC Guitar School has over 1000 students, 30 teachers and 13 classrooms. Queens Guitar School is our newest and smallest location--but we have the same great classes, committment to service and spectacular teachers that have made our Manhattan and Brooklyn locations so successful!
Q: What happens after the first month?
A: If your child loves Rock Guitar Class, then he or she can continue attending at the regular rate of $89 per month. If you don't want to continue, for any reason whatsoever, just let us know by calling 718-626-8121.
Rock Guitar for Kids Ages 9-12
Level I: Basic Strumming, Chording, and Riffing
If your child loves to play Guitar Hero or Rock Band, they will love how exciting and achievable learning to play a real guitar can be!
This class takes a revolutionary new approach to teaching absolute beginners. Students learn as they actually play along to some of their favorite rock songs starting on their very first day.
If your child has the desire to play guitar, they will be successful in this class, because we will nourish and intensify that desire! Instead of forcing kids to play tedious exercises and uninspiring songs like "Row Row Row Your Boat" we motivate and excite kids by teaching them the basics of chords, strumming, and reading tablature in the context of carefully selected riffs and songs such as "Smoke On the Water", "Satisfaction", "Seven Nation Army", "Bad to the Bone", "Wild Thing", "Crossroads", "I Wanna Be Sedated", "Rock This Town" and more.
We've worked hard to make this class work for the student AND the student's family:
--We supply guitars in class! (No guitar lugging necessary.)
--Extremely flexible scheduling! Attend any class that is on our Level I schedule from week to week. Choose the most convenient class for you and show up ready to rock!
-- TO JOIN, come to our friendly Queens studio for a free Introductory Class! Introductory classes are held every Tuesday at 5:00 pm and Saturday at 3:00 pm. This 30 minute one-time class gives you a chance to tour the school and learn the basics before joining. Please arrive 10 minutes early to fill out paperwork.
--Unlimited make-up classes! If you miss a week, you can sit in on any currently running Level I class. Make-ups must be completed within the same month of the missed class.
--Enthusiastic, patient and qualified teachers! They have extensive performing and teaching experience, college degrees in music and have been specially trained for this class.
--No long term committment! You can stop or suspend lessons month-to-month as you wish.
--Enrollment is ongoing! All Level I classes are specifically designed for students who have never played guitar before. You can join ANY Level I class at ANY time.
